Meridian Surveying Engineering, Inc.
Experienced, Responsive, Professional Land Surveyors
Serving California and the San Francisco Bay Area since 1989

With Magnetometer & Ground-penetrating Radar, our Surveying Team can support detection of both subsurface ground and underwater objects.

Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is a geophysical method that uses radar pulses for imaging subsurface objects. This non-destructive method uses electromagnetic radiation in the microwave band (UHF/VHF frequencies) of the radio spectrum, and detects the reflected signals from subsurface structures. GPR can be used in a variety of media, including rock, soil, ice, fresh water, pavements and structures. It can detect objects, changes in material, and voids and cracks.

We provide on-call services for Forensic studies, Commercial clients, local Government Agencies and Cities to detect and scan subsurface structures, structural building and ground anomalies as well as pre-construction scanning and sub-terrain surveying.

Utilizing Magnetometers, the Meridian Team can detect and image subsurface objects.

Magnetometers are scientific instruments used to measure the strength and/or direction of the magnetic field in the vicinity of the instrument.

Meridian Surveying Engineering uses Magnetometers in concert with GPR to assist with detecting subsurface objects. Magnetometers are also used to detect archaeological sites, shipwrecks and other buried or submerged objects, and in metal detectors to detect metal objects, such as rebar and iron pipes. Magnetic anomaly detectors detect submarines for military purposes. Magnetometers are also used in directional drilling to detect the azimuth of the drilling tools near the drill bit to assure pin-point accuracy.

Our company provides hi-tech surveying services for Commercial and Government clients to identify and detect subsurface objects like pipe work or underground pipelines.
